Curruption a norm in Construction?

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territory Fire and Rescue Department director Mohammad Hamdan Wahid was charged in the Sessions Court yesterday with corruptly accepting close to a million ringgit.
He is alleged to have accepted RM925,000 from Zainudin Su'ut, a contractor, at the North Point One Ampang Avenue condominium's car park between 4pm and 6pm on Aug 1, 2003.

Hamdan is alleged to have received the money as an inducement to support a contract proposal to the Housing and Local Government Ministry on the construction of the Fire and Rescue Department in Petra Jaya, Sarawak, and ensure the contract was awarded to Erakristal Sdn Bhd, of which Zainudin was the manager.
